Bottle Notes, Pinot Noir

2018 Aston Estate Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast – Bottle Notes

Aston Estate was founded in 2001 by Fred Schrader, founder of Schrader Cellars, Chuck Sweeney, co-founder of Vine Cliff and Thomas Rivers-Brown. Several years ago TRB bought out the other two founders and became the sole owner. Aston Estate is located near the remote township of Annapolis, approximately five miles from the coast.

Dark red in color. 14.7% ABV. Flamboyant nose of dark fruits, baking spices, a hint of citrus and forest floor. Full bodied with exquisite acidity. Exceptionally rich and savory. Black cherry, plums, cloves and blood orange on the palate. Tremendous length on the finish. Deep, dark, brooding Pinot Noir that will drink well for another 5-7 years.

My rating: 92 points.

The winery is still accepting names for their mailing list. Super wines from an incredible vineyard that are fairly priced. Lots to like here.
