AldenAlli is a collaboration between the families Dan Kosta and Emeril Lagasse. The winery is named after their wifes Alli Kosta and Alden Lagasse. The initial release was a 2013 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. In 2015 the lineup expanded to include a single vineyard Pinot Noir from Campbell Ranch and a Zinfandel from Limerick Lane Vineyard. More Pinot Noir and a Chardonnay have been added as well. Shane Finley is the winemaker at AldenAlli.
The Sonoma Coast is a blend from many vineyards but the majority of the fruit is from Campbell Ranch.
Crimson in color. 14.1% ABV. Intriguing nose of dark fruits, cloves, earth and flowers. Silky, rich and well balanced. Cranberry, pomegranate, orange rind and minerals on the palate. Tremendous length on the finish. The fruit has faded ever so slightly since my last bottle and the wine has a decidedly earthy profile. Have no doubt thought that is still a compelling Pinot Noir. Best over the next several years.
My rating: 93 points.
