Toil Oregon was founded in 2012 by Chris Figgins. Chris is the President and Winemaking Director for Figgins Family Wine Estates. At present time this includes Leonetti, Figgins and Toil Oregon. Toil recently opened a winery in Newberg, OR. The Toil Oregon lineup includes a Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Rose.
Golden in color. 14.2% ABV. Charming nose tropical fruits, apple and honeysuckle. Full bodied with perfect acidity. Rich and plush with great mouth feel. Pear, vanilla creme brulee, honey and a hint of toast on the palate. The finish is long and supple. Bless the person who was selling a stash of this for $15 a bottle on WineBid. Best over the next 2-4 years.
My rating: 93 points.
The mailing list at Toil Oregon is still open and the 2024 Chardonnay will be released this Spring. Chris Figgins is still honing his craft as it pertains to Oregon wines and I look forward to following this project in the years to come.
I previously wrote about Toil previously in The Wines of Chris Figgins and New Releases from Toil Oregon and hope to visit the winery on an upcoming road trip.
