2018 Kosta Browne Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast – Bottle Notes

Kosta Browne was founded in the late nineties by Dan Kosta and Michael Browne and has always focused on Sonoma Coast and Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. The winery has changed hands several times. Most recently Kosta Browne was purchased by Duckhorn Wine Company. The waiting list for the Appellation wines is 18 months long and for the coveted 4 Barrel Pinot Noir there is a 12 year waiting list.

Sourced from a variety of special vineyards including Marshall, Burnside, Kanzler, Gap’s Crown and Thorn Ridge

Bright crimson in color. 14.4% ABV. Charming nose of red fruits, cloves, baking spices and rose petals. Medium body with exquisite acidity. Packed with bright, earthy fruits. Cherry, strawberry, cranberry and minerals on the palate. The finish is long and supple. Delicious Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir that is aging effortlessly. I’ll open my next bottle in 2027.

My rating: 94 points.

The 2023 Kosta Browne Single Vineyard Pinots will be released to the mailing list this Fall.
