2019 Château Thivin Côte de Brouilly – Bottle Notes

Château Thivin is the benchmark domaine of the Côte de Brouilly. Built in the fifteenth century on an ancient volcano which juts out steeply into the valley below, Thivin is the oldest estate on Mont Brouilly. The Geoffray family has owned Thivin since the 19th century and are staunch and proud defenders of the terroir of the Côte de Brouilly.

Light red in color. 14.1% ABV. Pretty nose of red fruits, earth and flowers. Light to medium body with perfect acidity. Light, crisp and refreshing. Well balanced. Cherry, cranberry, strawberry and minerals on the palate. The finish is long and smooth. Delicious and easy to drink. Perfection served at cellar temperature on a warm Spring night in Seattle. Best over the next 1-2 years.

My rating: 90 points.

I buy this wine year in and year out. Look for the 22 vintage at about $35 per bottle.
