Bedrock Wine Co. was founded by Morgan Twain-Peterson in 2007 and focuses on small production wines from many of California’ s most treasured and historic vineyards. The lineup of wines at Bedrock is expanding rapidly, but I think the best of the best are the ancient vineyard Zinfandels, Morgan is clearly passionate about.
Papera Ranch is situated in the Russian River Valley at the intersection of Piner and Olivet and was planted in 1934 by Charlie Papera. Most vineyards from this era are comprised of a number of mixed black varieties. Papera, on the other hand, is almost entirely Zinfandel with the exception of the Bedrock block that is the one part of the vineyard with more mixed blacks.

Purple in color. 14.% ABV. 50% Zinfandel and 40% Carignane and smattering of other varieties. Sublime nose of red and black fruits, baking spices and flowers. Full bodied with ample acidity. Structure and power in spades. Rich, lush and well balanced. Black cherry, raspberry liqueur, mulberry and pepper on the palate Tremendous length on the finish. No rush here. Best over the next 3-5 years.
