2018 Gorman Winery The Devil You Don’t Know – Bottle Notes

Gorman Winery was founded by Chris Gorman in 2002. Prior to founding Gorman, Chris was a mainstay in the Seattle wine trade. Gorman produces around 8000 cases a year and a wide variety of wines but the focus is on Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. Yours truly is also a big fan of the Gorman Rosé named 42-39-56 after the iconic AC/DC classic Whole Lotta Rosie.

Purple in color. 15.1% ABV. 55% Syrah, 25% Grenache and 20% Mourvedre. Stellar nose of black and blue fruits, bacon fat, olive brine and flowers. Full bodied with ample acidity. Plush, approachable and well balanced. Black cherry, blueberry, charred meats and olives on the palate. Tremendous length on the finish. Delicious and easy to drink. Definitely a great value for the price. Best over the next 3-5 years.

My rating: 91 points.

The 2018 Devil You Don’t Know was a great value at $30 from the winery. Look for the ’19 version later this Spring. Gorman is always a good stop in Woodinville Wine County.
