Mari Womack began her love affair with wine while working in Seattle restaurants. She became the assistant winemaker at Darby Winery in 2011 and founded Damsel Cellars a few years later. Damsel Cellars produces a number of different wines including a Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet France.
Purple in color. 14.6% ABV. Gorgeous nose of black fruits, leather, tobacco and cedar. Medium to full bodied with strong acidity. Dark and brooding. Black cherry, currants, cassis and earth on the palate. Tremendous length on the finish with gritty tannins. Super Cabernet Franc from the esteemed Boushey Vineyard. Best over the next 4-6 years.
My rating: 91 points.
