Bottle Notes, Syrah

2011 Sleight of Hand Syrah The Funkadelic – Bottle Notes

Sleight of Hand was founded in 2007 by Jerry & Sandy Solomon and Trey Busch. The formula at Sleight of Hand is high quality wines from Washington’s most exceptional vineyards. Sleight of Hand produces a full range of red and whites and without question has one of the top few tasting rooms in both Walla Walla and SoDo.

Sourced from The Funk Estate Vineyard, managed by Richard Funk.

Blood red in color. 13.6% ABV. Savory nose of red fruits, olive brine, barbecued meats and flowers. Medium to full bodied with mouth watering acidity. Plush and concentrated. Cherries, game, coffe, smoke and minerals on the palate. Tremendous length on the finish. One of the first wines from Sleight of Hand that demonstrated the deft touch of Trey Busch with fruit from the Rocks District. Best over the next several years.

My rating: 95 points.

I’m not a big wine club guy but if I had to pick one from Washington, Sleight of Hand would be near the top of my list.
