Bottle Notes

2019 Guy Breton Morgon Vieilles Vignes – Bottle Notes

Guy Breton took over the family domaine from his grandfather in 1986. Until that point, the family was selling their fruit to the large cooperative wineries. Breton’s domaine is comprised of just over four hectares most of which lies in the appellation of Morgon. Guy Breton along with Marcel Lapierre, Jean-Paul Thévenet and Jean Foillard was part of the Kermit Lynch “Gang of Four” which called for a return to the old practices of viticulture and vinification.

Ruby red in color. Delightful nose of red fruits, citrus, earth and flowers. Medium body with nice acidity. Crisp and fresh with crunchy, tangy fruits. Cherry, nectarine, nutmeg and minerals on the palate. The finish is long and snappy. Serve at cellar temperature on a warm night this Spring or Summer. Thank me later.

My rating: 88 points.

Guy Breton is imported by Kermit Lynch and the new releases can always be found there.
