Bottle Notes

2018 Guy Breton Morgon Vieilles Vignes – Bottle Notes

Guy Breton took over the family domaine from his grandfather in 1986. Until that point, the family was selling their fruit to the large cooperative wineries. Breton’s domaine is comprised of just over four hectares most of which lies in the appellation of Morgon. Guy Breton along with Marcel Lapierre, Jean-Paul Thévenet and Jean Foillard was part of the Kermit Lynch “Gang of Four” which called for a return to the old practices of viticulture and vinification.

Light red in color. 13% ABV. Charming nose of red fruits, citrus, baking spices and earth. Light to medium body with medium acidity. Crisp and refreshing. Bing cherry, mushrooms, nutmeg and minerals on the palate. Tremendous length on the finish. Delightful Beaujolais that is exceedingly easy to drink. Best over the next 1-2 years.

My rating: 91 points.

Guy Breton is imported by Kermit Lynch and the new releases can always be found there.
