2024 Kirkland Zinfandel Old Vine Sonoma County – Bottle Notes

Kirkland is the private label for Costco. This Zinfandel is made by Jeff McBride who has worked at Stags Leap and Benziger previously. The wine is cellared and bottled by DC Flynt MW Selections in American Canyon, California.

Ruby red in color. 15% ABV. Pretty nose of red fruits, citrus, baking spices and flowers. Light to medium body with medium acidity. Fresh, soft and supple. Cherry, strawberry, nectarine and earth on the palate. The finish is long and smooth. Appealing, easy to drink and decidedly a compelling value. Best over the next 1-2 years.

My rating: 89 points.

For $10 it is hard to go wrong here. Look for this at your local Costco in the near term as at least in my market it never seems to last very long.
