Bottle Notes, Zinfandel

2024 Seghesio Zinfandel Sonoma County – Bottle Notes

Seghesio Family Vineyards  was established in 1895, when Edoardo Seghesio planted his first Zinfandel vineyard in Sonoma County’s Alexander Valley. The focus at Seghesio has always been Zinfandel and Italian varietals.

Bright crimson in color. 15% ABV. Primarily Sonoma County but grapes are also sourced from Contra Costa and San Joaquin Counties. Savory nose of red and black fruits, licorice, plums and earth. Medium body with medium acidity. Bright and refreshing with earthy fruits. Black cherry, strawberry, raspberry and pepper on the palate. The finish is long and supple. Delicious, easy to drink and as always a great value. Best over the next 3-5 years.

My rating: 91 points.

This wine is readily available at retail and under $20 at Costco. A solid value year in and year out.
