Bottle Notes, Pinot Noir

2017 Cameron Pinot Noir Dundee Hills – Bottle Notes

Cameron Winery is dedicated to producing high-quality, hand-crafted and sustainably-farmed libations for the people. Cameron is a small family operation, producing 3,000 to 4,000 cases annually.  John Paul, the irrepressible owner and winemaker emeritus, founded the winery in 1984.

Ruby red in color. 12.6% ABV. Pretty nose of red fruits, citrus, baking spices and earth. Medium body with medium acidity. Light, fresh and earthy. Cherry, cranberry, blood orange and mushrooms on the palate. The finish is long and spicy. Charming Pinot Noir that is ready to drink. Best over the next several years.

My rating: 91 points.

The 2024 version of this wine was recently released and can be found for $35-$40.

I’ve never visited Cameron but hope to do so on my next trip to the Willamette Valley.
