Toil Oregon was founded in 2012 by Chris Figgins. Chris is the President and Winemaking Director for Figgins Family Wine Estates. At present time this includes Leonetti, Figgins and Toil Oregon. Figgins Family Wine Estates has acquired a 42-acre parcel of extraordinary land in the Chehalem Mountains AVA of Willamette Valley. This will become the Estate Vineyard and future winery home of Toil Oregon. The Toil Oregon lineup includes a Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Rose.
Ruby red in color. 14% ABV. Beautiful nose of red fruits, herbs and flowers. Medium to full bodied with perfect acidity. Lush and rich with earthy fruits. Black cherry, cranberry, nutmeg and soil on the palate. The finish is long, warm and supple. Approachable now but I would wait a couple more years and drink over the next 4-6.
My rating: 91 points.
The mailing list at Toil Oregon is still open and the 2024 Pinot Noir was recently released. Chris Figgins is still honing his craft as it pertains to Oregon Pinot Noir and I look forward to following this project in the years to come.
