Guy Breton took over the family domaine from his grandfather in 1986. Until that point, the family was selling their fruit to the large cooperative wineries. Breton’s domaine is comprised of just over four hectares most of which lies in the appellation of Morgon. Guy Breton along with Marcel Lapierre, Jean-Paul Thévenet and Jean Foillard was part of the Kermit Lynch “Gang of Four” which called for a return to the old practices of viticulture and vinification.
Light red in color. 13.5% ABV. Pretty nose of red fruits, citrus, Christmas spices and flowers. Light to medium body with nice acidity. Abundant bright, crisp fruits. Cherry, cranberry, nectarine and earth on the palate. The finish is long and supple. Charming and easy to drink. Best over the next several years.
My rating: 89 points.
Guy Breton is imported by Kermit Lynch and the new releases can always be found there.
