2019 Convene Pinot Noir Russian River Valley – Bottle Notes

Convene was founded by Dan Kosta in 2019. Shane Finley is the Winemaker. Dan and Shane previously partnered at AldenAlli and I have followed Dan Kosta since Kosta Browne launched over 20 years ago. Convene specializes in Sonoma Coast and Russian River Valley Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

Bright crimson in color. 14.1% ABV. Gorgeous nose of red fruits, baking spices and flowers. Medium body with exquisite acidity. Light, lithe and charming with bright fruits in spades. Cherry, strawberry, cranberry and spice on the palate. Exceptional Pinot Noir that perfectly reflects the Russian River Valley. I’ll open another bottle in 2027. Best over the next 2-4 years.

My rating: 94 points.

The 2022 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir was recently released to the mailing list at a price of $68.

I’ve been on the Convene mailing list since the start and look forward to following the wines in the years to come. I also hope to visit Convene on my next trip to Healdsburg.
