Seghesio Family Vineyards was established in 1895, when Edoardo Seghesio planted his first Zinfandel vineyard in Sonoma County’s Alexander Valley. The focus at Seghesio has always been Zinfandel and Italian varietals.
Crimson in color. 15% ABV. Gorgeous nose of red fruits, citrus and baking spices. Medium body with mouth watering acidity. Fresh and refined with bright, juicy fruits. Cherry, raspberry compote, blood orange and pepper on the palate. The finish is long and supple. Delicious Zinfandel that is a steal for the price. The best version of this wine in recent memory. Drink over the next 2-3 years.
My rating: 93 points.
This wine is readily available at retail and will likely be about $20 at Costco. A solid value year in and year out. The 2023 vintage will likely be on the market soon so stock up on the 2022 while you can.
Rumor has it that this wine is the same wine as Seghesio’s Angela’s Table, but AT lacks a bar code.
After reading your review I went to Costco to pick up a few (this wine is an old friend) and the 2023s were on offer. 2023 was absolutely delicious. I look forward to your eventual review of it, Tom. Cheers!
Good to know. I’m due for a trip to Costco. Thanks.
