2020 Dehlinger Pinot Noir Garbro Ranch – Bottle Notes

Dehlinger Winery is located in the Russian River Valley of Sonoma County and was founded in 1975 by Tom and Carole Dehlinger. Eva Dehlinger took over winemaking duties in 2007. Known for their Pinot Noir, Dehlinger also makes Chardonnay, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Sirah

One hundred years ago the Garcia Brothers (The “Gar-Bros”) founded a headquarters in Sebastopol for their fruit packing enterprise and used their large orchard holdings at the Garbro Ranch on Vine Hill Road as a source of apples for their product lines. The Garbro Ranch name lingered in local memory even as the owners and the agriculture changed over the decades. In 2017, the Dehlinger family purchased the neighboring Garbro Ranch with the aim of keeping the property a family owned farm and expanding Dehlinger’s existing vineyard. Dehlinger has crafted a Garbro Ranch product line originating from this special place as a sister label to Dehlinger’s Estate wine offerings.

Ruby red in color. 14.5% ABV. Pretty nose of red fruits, citrus, baking spices and forest floor. Medium body with perfect acidity. The fruit is lush and pure. Cherry, strawberry, blood orange and cloves on the palate. The finish is long and supple. Delicious Pinot Noir from a challenging vintage that is priced incredibly well. Best over the next 2-4 years.

My rating: 92 points.

Dehlinger Winery has a great reputation among wine connoisseurs. Wine writers have consistently given strong reviews while praising the winery for its uniqueness, quality, consistency and value. About 75% of their wine is sold via the mailing list. Amazing wines that are well worth the search.
