2021 Château Thivin Côte de Brouilly – Bottle Notes

Château Thivin is the benchmark domaine of the Côte de Brouilly. Built in the fifteenth century on an ancient volcano which juts out steeply into the valley below, Thivin is the oldest estate on Mont Brouilly. The Geoffray family has owned Thivin since the 19th century and are staunch and proud defenders of the terroir of the Côte de Brouilly.

Crimson in color. 13.5% ABV. Pretty nose of red fruits, citrus, baking spices and earth. Medium body with perfect acidity. Loaded with bright, crunchy fruits. Crisp and refreshing. Cherry, strawberry, cranberry and minerals on the palate. The finish is long and spicy. Really delicious and easy to drink. Perfect at cellar temperature on a warm Summer night. Best over the next several years.

My rating: 91 points.

I buy this wine year in and year out. Look for the 22 vintage at about $35 per bottle.
