Seghesio Family Vineyards was established in 1895, when Edoardo Seghesio planted his first Zinfandel vineyard in Sonoma County’s Alexander Valley. The focus at Seghesio has always been Zinfandel and Italian varietals.
Purple in color. 15% ABV. Sublime nose of red and black fruits, anise and pepper. Medium body with mouth watering acidity. Light and fresh with bright fruits and perfect balance. Blackberry, raspberry liqueur, baking spices and pepper on the palate. Exceptional length on the finish. Elegant Zinfandel that is extremely compelling. The best version of this wine going back many vintages. Drink over the next 3-5 years.
My rating: 93 points.
This wine is readily available at retail and will likely be about $20 at Costco. A solid value year in and year out.
I heartily concur, Tom. Best release in recent memory. They really got the balance right here.
