Bedrock Wine Co. was founded by Morgan Twain-Peterson in 2007 and focuses on small production wines from many of California’ s most treasured and historic vineyards. The lineup of wines at Bedrock is expanding rapidly, but I think the best of the best are the ancient vineyard Zinfandels, Morgan is clearly passionate about.
Fruit from the great Teldeschi Ranch comprises just over 20% of the blend, followed by Beeson, Sodini, Nervo, Dommen, Pagani, Papera, Evangelho, Pato, Katushas’ and Bedrock. 85% Zinfandel, 7% Carignane, 4% Cinsault and a smattering of other varieties.
Bright crimson in color. 14.5% ABV. Fantastic nose of red fruits, citrus and baking spices. Medium body with perfect acidity. Lighter in style with crisp, fresh fruits. Well balanced. Black cherry, raspberry compote, blood orange and pepper on the palate. The finish is long and supple. Delicious Old Vine from a stellar vintage that you should enjoy now while you let the Single Vineyard wines age a bit longer.
