Bottle Notes

2018 Bruce Patch “Take Five” – Bottle Notes

Bruce Patch cut his teeth in the music industry — having once met the Beatles and helped to discover the famous 80’s band, The Cars. Bruce moved to the Russian River Valley in the late 1990’s, and transitioned his sales and marketing background into a successful distribution business representing small independent wineries in Sonoma County. Bruce Patch Wines sources grapes from throughout Sonoma County, including many notable vineyards like Coffaro and Harris-Kratka.

The Take Five is a Bordeaux style blend from the Knights Valley AVA in Sonoma County. 45% Cabernet Franc, 45% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Sauvigon and 1% Petit Verdot.

Dark crimson in color. 14.1% ABV. Super nose of dark fruits, wet leaves, licorice and leather. Full bodied with lush fruits and impeccable balance. Currants, cassis, tobacco and plums on the palate. The finish is warm and supple. This wine is already approachable and delicious. Best over the next 3-5 years. $50 at the winery and retail.

My rating: 93 points.
