Bottle Notes, Pinot Noir

2018 Toil Oregon Pinot Noir – Bottle Notes

Toil Oregon was founded in 2012 by Chris Figgins. Chris is the President and Winemaking Director for Figgins Family Wine Estates. At present time this includes Leonetti, Figgins and Toil Oregon. Figgins Family Wine Estates has acquired a 42-acre parcel of extraordinary land in the Chehalem Mountains AVA of Willamette Valley. This will become the Estate Vineyard and future winery home of Toil Oregon. The Toil Oregon lineup includes a Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Rose.

Ruby red in color. 14% ABV. Brooding nose of red fruits, baking spices and forest floor. Medium body with perfect acidity. Rich, lush and spicy. Cherry, strawberry, nutmeg and minerals on the palate. Exceptional length on the finish. Stunning Pinot Noir that certainly has more left in the tank. Best over the next 3-4 years.

My rating: 93 points.

The mailing list at Toil Oregon is still open and the 2022 Pinot Noir will be released this Spring. Chris Figgins is still honing his craft as it pertains to Oregon Pinot Noir and I look forward to following this project in the years to come.

I previously wrote about Toil previously in The Wines of Chris Figgins and New Releases from Toil Oregon.
