Bottle Notes, Pinot Noir

2014 Kosta Browne Pinot Noir Russian River Valley – Bottle Notes

Kosta Browne was founded in the late nineties by Dan Kosta and Michael Browne and has always focused on Sonoma Coast and Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. The winery has changed hands several times. Most recently Kosta Browne was purchased by Duckhorn Wine Company. The waiting list for the Appellation wines is 18 months long and for the coveted 4 Barrel Pinot Noir there is a 12 year waiting list.

This version of the Russian River Valley is a blend from many vineyards including including Keefer, Koplen, and Giusti.

Crimson in color. 14.3% ABV. Pretty nose of red fruits, baking spices, earth and flowers. Medium body with exquisite acidity. Big, rich and full of earthy fruits. Cherry, cranberry, pomegranate and minerals on the palate. Nice length on the finish. Stunning Pinot Noir that has aged well. Certainly ready to drink.

My rating: 92 points.

The 2022 Kosta Browne Appellation wines will be released to the mailing shortly.
