2019 Klinker Brick Winery Zinfandel Old Vine – Bottle Notes

Steve and Lori Felten represent the fifth generation of their family to grow grapes in Lodi.  They started Klinker Brick Winery and produced their first vintage of old vine Zinfandel in 2000. The winery name comes from the Klinker Bricks that grace many of the historical buildings in Lodi.

Sourced from old vine vineyards in the Mokelumne and Clements Hills regions of Lodi.

Crimson in color. 15.4% ABV. Savory nose of dark fruits, citrus and pepper. Medium to full bodied with ample acidity. Lighter in style than previous vintages. Mulberry, cranberry and blood orange on the palate. Medium length on the finish. Mostly unremarkable but I suppose it is a good value at around $20. Drink over the next year or so.

My rating: 86 points.
