Bedrock Wine Co. was founded by Morgan Twain-Peterson in 2007 and focuses on small production wines from many of California’ s most treasured and historic vineyards. The lineup of wines at Bedrock is expanding rapidly, but I think the best of the best are the ancient vineyard Zinfandels, Morgan is clearly passion about.
Monte Rosso was planted in the 1880’s by Emanuel Goldstein and the original winery is still on the property. The vineyard is at 1300′ elevation and is situated on the Southwest side of the Mayacamas Range, close to the town of Agua Caliente. The fruit also goes to Orin Swift and Louis Martini.
Purple in color. 14.5% ABV. Sublime nose of red and black fruits, anise and flowers. Full bodied with mouth watering acidity. Concentrated and powerful with dense, chewy fruits and notable tannins. Black cherry, raspberry liqueur, blackberry and white pepper on the palate. Tremendous length on the finish. Stunning Monte Rosso that is showing so well right now. Best over the next 3-5 years.
