Bottle Notes, Zinfandel

2020 Bedrock Wine Co. Zinfandel Old Vine

Bedrock Wine Co. was founded by Morgan Twain-Peterson in 2007 and focuses on small production wines from many of California’ s most treasured and historic vineyards. The lineup of wines at Bedrock is expanding rapidly, but I think the best of the best are the ancient vineyard Zinfandels, Morgan is clearly passionate about.

85% Zinfandel from an array of killer vineyards including Esola, Schmiedt Road, Evangelho, Old Hill, Bedrock and Nervo.

Dark crimson in color. 14.4% ABV. Brooding nose of red fruits, plums, anise and pepper. Medium body with mouth watering acidity. Young, fresh and juicy. Well balanced and somewhat approachable. Cherry, strawberry, earth and pepper on the palate. Tremendous length on the finish. This will age well and allow you to keep your hands off the single vineyard wines for at least a few years. What a triumph for this bottling in a vintage marred by fires up and down Northern California. Best over the next 3-4 years.

My rating: 93 points.

The mailing list at Bedrock is highly recommended. Exceptional wines, fair prices and great customer service. Put your name on the waiting list.
