2018 Homefire Cellars Zinfandel Dry Creek Valley – Bottle Notes

Homefire Cellars was founded by Mike Sterling in 2002. Located in Healdsburg, Homefire is dedicated to making delicious Zinfandel. Mike also happens to be the winemaker. The lineup at Homefire includes several single vineyards Zinfandels.

Sourced from Hale’s Vineyard in the Dry Creek Valley. The vines were 60 years of age at the time of harvest.

Crimson in color. 15.4% ABV. Pretty nose of bright red fruits, baking spices and pepper. Medium body with perfect acidity. Bursting with sweet, lush fruits. Cherry, raspberry liqueur, licorice and pepper on the palate. Tremendous length on the finish. Really delicious Zinfandel that will drink well for years to come. Best over the next 3-5 years.

My rating: 93 points.

Review based on a sample provided by the winery.

$30 at the winery and retail.

This was my second opportunity to try a Zinfandel from Homefire Cellars. Lots to like here. I look forward to following the winery in the years to come.
