AldenAlli is a collaboration between the families Dan Kosta and Emeril Lagasse. The winery is named after their wifes Alli Kosta and Alden Lagasse. The initial release was a 2013 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. In 2015 the lineup expanded to include a single vineyard Pinot Noir from Campbell Ranch, a Zinfandel from Limerick Lane Vineyard and a few different Chardonnay. Shane Finley is the winemaker at AldenAlli.
Straw colored. 13.5% ABV. Super nose of tropical fruits, vanilla bean, lemon oil and honey. Medium body with nice acidity. Rich and plush with great texture. Green apple, peach, mango and minerals on the palate. Medium length on the finish. Delicious, easy to drink and attractively priced. Best over the next 2-3 years.
My rating: 90 points.
AldenAlli is just getting started. The 2019 version of this wine was released just a few weeks ago. I trust Dan Kosta and encourage readers to consider signing up for the mailing list.
