Wines and Charities

For three years now my wife, Lisa, and I have helped to procure wines for the Komen Grace Notes Auction held each March in Seattle. Due in large part to the success of last year’s event, the Puget Sound Affiliate was able to award $2.85 million in grants to local non-profit organizations providing breast cancer screening, treatment options, and support services for underserved women living in the our area.

Anyone affiliated with a winery knows that wineries literally field hundreds of requests each and every year to donate their wines to various causes. On one hand it is very good pr to have your wines featured at a high profile auction. On the other hand, every bottle donated is one less bottle that can be sold. Wineries simply can’t grant every single request sent their way.

I wanted to use this blog post to recognize the wineries that donated to this years Komen Auction. For the most part we know the owners of these wineries, enjoy their wines and could not recommend them more highly to anyone who reads my blog.
