2017 Sleight of Hand Cabernet Sauvignon The Illusionist – Bottle Notes

Sleight of Hand was founded in 2007 by Jerry & Sandy Solomon and Trey Busch. The formula at Sleight of Hand is high quality wines from Washington’s most exceptional vineyards. Sleight of Hand produces a full range of red and whites and without question has one of the top few tasting rooms in both Walla Walla and SoDo.

81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Petit Verdot, 7% Cabernet Franc

Purple in color. 14.6% ABV. Brooding nose of red and blue fruits, graphite, leather and chocolate. Lush and full bodied. Concentrated and powerful. Black cherry, blueberry, tobacco and pepper on the palate. The finish on the wine is long and smooth with notable tannins. Approachable now with a few hours in the decanter but this wine has the stuffing to show well for another 6-8 years.

My rating: 93 points.

I’m not a big wine club guy but if I had to pick one from Washington, Sleight of Hand would be near the top of my list.
