2016 Bedrock Wine Co. Mixed Blacks Weill a Way Vineyard – Bottle Notes

Bedrock Wine Co. was founded by Morgan Twain-Peterson in 2007 and focuses on small production wines from many of California’ s most treasured and historic vineyards. The lineup of wines at Bedrock is expanding rapidly, but I think the best of the best are the ancient vineyard Zinfandels, Morgan is clearly passionate about.

Weill a Way is a hillside vineyard on the western side of the Sonoma Valley.

Opaque purple in color. 14.8% ABV. A mix of Zinfandel, Grenache, Mataro, Petite Sirah, Alicante Bouschet and Tempranillo. Savory nose of black fruits, plums, anise and pepper. Full bodied with mouth watering acidity. Loaded with lush, dark fruits. Black cherry, raspberry liqueur, licorice and pepper on the palate. Tremendous length on the finish. Dark, rich, plush, brooding. This wine has so much going on. No question this wine will age well. Best over the next 3-5 years.

My rating: 93 points.

The mailing list at Bedrock is highly recommended. Exceptional wines, fair prices and great customer service. Put your name on the waiting list.
