2017 Bedrock Wine Co. Heritage Wine Dolinsek Ranch – Bottle Notes

Bedrock Wine Co. was founded by Morgan Twain-Peterson in 2007 and focuses on small production wines from many of California’ s most treasured and historic vineyards. The lineup of wines at Bedrock is expanding rapidly, but I think the best of the best are the ancient vineyard Zinfandels, Morgan is clearly passionate about.

Dolinsek Ranch is in the Russian River Valley and was planted a little over 100 years ago.

Crimson in color. 14.8% ABV. Super nose of red fruits, peach and baking spices. Medium body with perfect acidity. Bursting with bright, lush fruits. Raspberry, wild strawberry, peach and pepper on the palate. Tremendous length on the finish. This wine had me at the first smell and everything that came after thoroughly over delivered. Who said the ’17 Zin vintage was problematic? Best over the next 3-5 years.

My rating: 94 points.

The mailing list at Bedrock is highly recommended. Exceptional wines, fair prices and great customer service. Put your name on the waiting list.

I blogged about Bedrock in The 2020 Zinfandel Chronicles Power Rankings.

  1. Agree completely. Had ’17 DuPratt and Papera zin from Carlisle last week, both outstanding! Wish I bought more ’17 zins.
