Bottle Notes, Pinot Noir

2016 AldenAlli Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast – Bottle Notes

AldenAlli is a collaboration between the families Dan Kosta and Emeril Lagasse. The winery is named after their wifes Alli Kosta and Alden Lagasse. The initial release was a 2013 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. In 2015 the lineup expanded to include a single vineyard Pinot Noir from Campbell Ranch, a Zinfandel from Limerick Lane Vineyard and a few different Chardonnay. Shane Finley is the winemaker at AldenAlli.

Crimson in color. 14.1% ABV. Pretty nose of red fruits, cloves, cola and forest floor. Medium body with exquisite acidity. Lush and well balanced with opulent up front fruits. Cherry, strawberry, sarsaparilla and baking spices on the palate. The finish is long and silky. Absolutely delicious Pinot Noir. I am looking forward to the upcoming release of the ’18 vintage. Best over the next 2-4 years.

My rating: 92 points.

AldenAlli is just getting started. The 2018 version of this wine will be released in the next few months. I trust Dan Kosta and encourage readers to consider signing up for the mailing list.
